Songs of the Pearl
Happy Song- "The Winner Is" By: Devotchka -or- "Carol of the Bells" Cover By: Pentatonix
I had chosen these songs as the happy songs because every time I hear them I just get an excited feeling inside. I just feel that a song that makes you that happy on the inside and sometimes the outside, should be considered a genuine "happy song".
Sad Song- "A Little Fall of Rain" Featured in: Les Miserables -or- "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" Featured in: Les Miserables
I had chosen these songs to represent sadness because when I had first seen the movie I was so sad already and both of these songs caused me to break down and cry. I believe that this is perfect because it is that last push to tears which is what a sad song should truly be.
Hopeful Song- "Do you Hear the People Sing" Featured in: Les Miserables -or- "One More Day" Featured in: Les Miserables
I had chosen these songs to represent hope because of their ability to push you up out of a sad moment and right into a happy moment. If either of these songs were played in the middle of a tragedy, it would raise up all the spirits of the sad people. For example, in the movie, "Les Miserables", "do you hear the people sing" is played and wraps up the entire movie with the perfect conclusion.
Angry Song- "The Confrontation" Featured in: Les Miserables
I had chosen this song as the angry song because as I am listening to this song, you can really hear the power and emphasis through their voices. Another reason I had chosen this song was because of the level of intensity it was presenting through the scene it was sang in.
Death Song- "Did you see them lying side by side" Featured in: Les Miserables
I had chosen this song because the song literally comes up after a battle, when many of the young men in the French Revolution died. This song may be short, but it brings up a good point of imagining that the person who died or was killed just once a baby in someone's arms.
Sinister Song " Look Down" Featured in: Les Miserables
I had chosen this song because javer is doing evil things to the prisoners just as the pearl does to kino and Juana.
